Balkh Air Services is a Ground Handling Company established in June 2013, HQ Office in Mazar-e-Sharif.

From the date of establishment BAS is providing Comprehensive Ground Handling Services as sole provider and Airport Maintenance Services at Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi International Airport, Mazare Sharif, Afghanistan.

BAS is now providing Ground Handling Services in Khost international Airport as well.

BAS is the first private Ground Handling Company in Afghanistan to be member of IATA since 2018 and it is an ISAGO certified Ground Handler in Afghanistan since 2018.

BAS has a bright background of providing Ground Handling Services for last 10 years through experts and certified staff by IATA Authorized training centers. Apart from providing such trainings for staff, BAS has committed to facilitate direct IATA trainings for its management out of which obtaining Ground Operations Diploma can be an excellent outcome for it.

BAS is proud to be the first Ground Handler in Afghanistan to start providing services with complete package of professionalized GSE being imported from European countries.

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Quality and Safety Officer will develop, implement, manage and maintain effective Quality and Safety policies and procedures that meet the criteria for ISO compliance as well as Corporate and government safety requirements. Will also develop, implement and manage a Six Sigma training program as well as other process improvement initiatives to achieve corporate quality objectives.

Job Aim

• To design and implement the quality and safety system in the company
• To liaise with Managers and Staff throughout the organization to ensure proper functioning of the systems.
• Demonstrable and measured continuous improvement in safety and quality systems (Identification, Assessment and Implementation).
• To monitor and advise on how the defined system is performing and internally publish data and reports w.r.t. quality and safety against set indicators.
• Risk analysis and recommendation – technical, flight operations and commercial.
  
  

Quality

Duties and Responsibilities

• Development and maintenance of the company Quality system policies and procedures
• Management of the company quality audit program
• Monitoring of contracted service providers to ensure the required standards are being met
• Liaison with departmental managers concerning the correction of any deficiencies highlighted through the Quality system
• Monitoring the effectiveness of the Quality system
• Providing appropriate reports to the Accountable Manager and senior management on the performance of the Quality system
• Liaising with contracted goods and service providers regarding Quality matters
• Managing the Mandatory Occurrence Defect Reporting processes
• Acting as a focal point for all communication with the ACAA and Airlines in respect to quality and certification matters
• Legacy records of defects
• Filing all documents regarding Quality Management based activities.
  
  

Safety

• Recommend, formulate and implement safety policy and procedures
• Establish and communicate a detailed safety plan for the company
• Monitoring of all activities during Ground Operations for compliance with Safety Standards as well as company policies and procedures.
• Accident Prevention and Safe Operation implementation
• Coordinate and assure compliance with the Risk Assessment Program
• Conduct Annual Safety Audits
• Incidents & Accidents - Reporting and investigating
• Survey and Campaign
• Implement, coordinate and instruct safety-related training program
• Maintaining all records related to safety programs, plans and actions
  
  

Job Requirements

4 years experience in quality & safety control (experience in aviation field is preferable)

University Degree

Fluent in English
